Apprenticeship Services

For organisations
With our holistic training approach, we help organisations navigate the complexities of apprenticeship programmes and achieve measurable results.
Our services are designed to improve apprentice performance, strengthen mentorship, ensure compliance, and ultimately increase organisational productivity and profitability.
Recruitment and selection of Apprentices
We assist organisations in identifying and selecting the right individuals for apprenticeship opportunities.
We facilitate:
- Recruitment campaigns
- Screening and shortlisting
- Structured interviews
- Final candidate recommendations
If you employ a significant number of apprentices, we offer a unique, data-driven solution. Every organisation has high and low performers across trades. We develop a statistically valid Model of Excellence that identifies:
- Behavioural profiles of top-performing artisans
- Thinking preferences and cognitive patterns
- Key performance drivers
Each potential apprentice is assessed against this model to ensure a stronger fit.
Benefits:
- Higher apprentice performance
- Improved productivity
- Reduced failure rates
- More efficient apprenticeship management
- Increased profitability
Mentors also receive insights from the assessment results, enabling more personalised and effective mentoring.
Manage Apprentices
Turn training incentives into business advantage — without the administrative burden
As an organisation, you can benefit from attractive tax rebates and incentives when implementing apprenticeships, learnerships, or internships.
However, managing these programmes internally can be time-consuming and administratively demanding. From compliance requirements to learner management and reporting, it can quickly become a distraction from your core business.
That’s where we come in.
We manage the entire process on your behalf
We provide full project management, including:
- Programme planning and implementation
- Learner recruitment and placement
- Ongoing administration and compliance management
- Performance monitoring and structured feedback reporting
- Liaison with training providers and regulatory bodies
You benefit from the incentives — without the operational burden.
No employer headaches? We’ve got that covered too.
If preferred, we can place the learners on our own payroll and act as the official employer of record. This means:
- No HR administration
- No payroll processing
- No employment compliance risks
- No day-to-day learner management pressure
You gain the skills development benefits and tax advantages — while we handle the responsibility.
Financial benefits & return on investment
Implementing structured apprenticeship and learnership programmes is not just a compliance exercise — it is a strategic financial decision. With the right structure in place, your organisation can benefit from:
- Access to tax rebates and allowances linked to registered programmes
- Improved B-BBEE scorecard performance (where applicable)
- Reduced recruitment costs by developing future talent internally
- Increased productivity through structured skills development
- Lower long-term hiring risks by assessing talent before permanent placement
By outsourcing management to us, you also reduce internal administrative costs and free up valuable management time — improving the overall return on investment.
The result: Maximised incentives, Controlled costs, and Measurable business value — without operational strain.
Hosting Apprentices
We assist with structured apprentice placement and tracking through the cloud-based Bhubezi Training Management System, ensuring compliance with QCTO, SETA and NAMB requirements.
Funded apprenticeships
We work closely with training institutions across the country that place funded and private apprentices in technical and engineering trades for periods of 9–24 months in the workplace:
- Registered under formal apprenticeship contracts
- Paid monthly stipends
- Covered for injury on duty
- Equipped with basic PPE
- Provided with toolboxes
This means no direct salary cost to your company (excluding a once-off placement fee). We believe apprentices positively impact the workplace as they apply and develop their skills, so we would expect you to top up their stipends or pay private apprentices a stipend.
Non-funded / Private Apprentices
Many private apprentices struggle to find workplace exposure due to:
- No lead employer
- No employment contract
- No stipend
- No injury-on-duty coverage
- PPE challenges
If your organisation provides a stipend, you may gain access to highly motivated individuals who often outperform funded apprentices.
Structured Workplace-Integrated Learning Programme
Many organisations fail to maximise the value of apprentices due to poor structure and lack of rotation planning.
We design and implement customised workplace training plans that include:
- Section-based work allocation
- Structured rotation plans
- Mentor and coaching frameworks
- Formal progress reviews
- Performance feedback sessions
- Engineering management reporting structures
Mentor & Coach Training
We train key role-players to ensure the apprenticeship system functions effectively. Mentor Training focused on:
- Mentorship skills
- Roles and responsibilities
- Programme structure
- Coaching techniques
- Alignment with Model of Excellence (if implemented)
Coach Training
Designed for artisans and supervisors working daily with apprentices, focusing on:
- Task instruction
- Performance monitoring
- Constructive feedback
- Reporting to mentors
Why partner with us?
We do not simply place apprentices — we build structured, compliant, performance-driven apprenticeship systems that deliver measurable business results. Our integrated model ensures:
- Better recruitment decisions
- Higher apprentice performance
- Stronger mentorship
- Compliance with regulatory bodies
- Reduced risk
- Improved profitability
Build high-performing apprenticeships that deliver real results.
Apprenticeships should strengthen your workforce — not drain your time, energy, and resources.
With our holistic, performance-driven apprenticeship solution, we help organisations recruit smarter, train better, and structure workplace learning for measurable success.
We don’t just manage apprentices – We build high-performing apprenticeship systems that increase productivity, reduce risk, and improve profitability.
Workplacement Support
Training does not end in the classroom.
For apprentices to qualify successfully, they must complete their workplace integrated learning (WIL) component — applying the knowledge and practical skills gained at the Skills Development Provider (SDP) in a real working environment.
We assist with the placement of apprentices at suitable host employers, ensuring they gain meaningful, structured workplace exposure aligned with their trade requirements. But our involvement does not stop at placement.
Ongoing monitoring & support
We actively manage and support apprentices throughout their workplace training by:
- Monthly workplace visits
- Visiting apprentices and mentors on a monthly basis
- Discussing progress and performance
- Collecting timesheets and copies of signed-off logbook activities
- Ensuring required workplace competencies are being achieved
- Monthly reporting
- Compiling structured progress reports
- Submitting detailed feedback to the Host Employer / Company
- Academic support
- Providing study techniques training for apprentices enrolling in N-level studies
- Offering additional guidance where academic support is required
- Trade test support
- Assisting in sourcing potential sponsorships for trade test preparation and trade test fees
- Supporting apprentices with all documentation required for trade test applications
- Ensuring administrative readiness for trade test registration
- Financial & administrative management
- Submitting monthly invoices to the Host Employer / Contractor
- Providing all required supporting documentation
Why this matters
Many apprenticeship programmes fail due to poor monitoring, lack of documentation, or insufficient workplace exposure. Our structured oversight ensures:
- Compliance with regulatory requirements
- Accurate documentation and logbook completion
- Early identification of performance challenges
- Stronger trade test readiness
- Reduced risk for both the apprentice and the employer
We don’t just place apprentices — we guide, monitor, support, and protect the integrity of the entire process.

For apprentices
Our primary focus is to assist the non-funded/ private apprentice to ensure they get the best possible training and support during their apprenticeship, work placement and trade testing.
We have years of experience in:
- The management of apprenticeships
- In corporates like Sappi, where in those years companies like Eskom, Iscor and Sasol came to visit us, based on the successes achieved;
- On behalf of companies such as F&R Catai (3 years – Kempton Park), and TAU Mining Consultants (7 years – Ogies);
- Obtained various discretionary grants from TETA and manage apprenticeships from application for grants to final trade testing of Apprentices and Interns;
- The strategic placement of Apprentices within various national programs:
- We played a critical role in the placement of Phases 1 Apprentices within the War-On-Leaks Program on behalf of BCEI, the main training project company of the project;
- We played a critical role as well in the placement of Phase 2 Apprentices on behalf of various Training Centres such as MCD, Colliery Trade Centre (CTC), Durnacol Skills Hub, Goega, and PMI;
- We also assisted other training companies like SAJ Competency Training Institute and Technotrain in the placement of their Apprentices;
- We assisted private businesses, like Tshwane Rapid Transport, with the placement of a large group of Apprentices in workplaces throughout Tshwane.
- The monitoring of Apprentices during the Workplace-integrated learning phase at various Host Companies on behalf of Durnacol Skills Hub, PMI, Technotrain and Artisan Training Institute (ATI). We were responsible for monthly visits, reporting, mentoring, etc of the Apprentices.
Identify the right Skills Development Provider
We understand that when you invest in apprenticeship training, you’re not just paying for a course — you’re investing in your child’s future.
That’s why we do not provide training ourselves. Instead, we carefully select and partner only with trusted, high-quality Skills Development Providers (SDPs) who meet strict standards. We only work with training providers that:
- Deliver structured, high-quality training that prepares apprentices for real employment
- Employ legally qualified facilitators who are properly accredited to train and assess
- Have the right equipment and machinery so apprentices gain genuine hands-on experience
- Follow the full QCTO curriculum requirements — not shortcuts
- Provide sufficient practical training time for real skills development
- Maintain ethical standards and do not cut corners to reduce costs
Protecting your investment
Private apprenticeships are a significant financial commitment for families. We take that responsibility seriously.
Through our established relationships with high-performing training centres, we:
- Ensure the full curriculum is properly covered
- Monitor that required practical training hours are completed
- Negotiate fair and competitive training rates on your behalf
- Work only with providers who maintain strong compliance and industry credibility
Our role is to act as your safeguard — ensuring your apprentice receives training that is compliant, credible, and truly career-building.
Because when families invest in training, they deserve peace of mind.
Training & Coaching of future Apprentices
Many young people are eager to secure apprenticeships, demonstrating strong motivation and interest. However, most applicants are not successful. This can be disappointing, but understanding why, is the first step toward improvement.
But do you know why?
- Many applicants submit CVs of very poor quality, often re-using the same document hundreds of times without personalisation or updates
- Some candidates apply for positions for which they do not meet even the minimum requirements. Although it is understandable that finding a job can be difficult and desperate times lead to desperate measures, this approach lowers the chances of success
- Many applicants send their CVs as email attachments without writing any content in the body of the email. These blank emails make a poor impression and fail to introduce the candidate
- Most attachments are simply named “My CV”, providing no indication of whose document it is or what position it relates to
- Many applicants neglect to include all the requested documents, such as the CV, identification document, school certificate, and N-level qualification, which are essential for a complete application
All these issues, and many more, result in your application not being considered seriously.
These mistakes can make your physical application hardly worth reviewing.
Furthermore, during interviews, most candidates are unable to clearly explain why they chose a particular trade or why they wish to pursue an apprenticeship. This lack of clarity and preparation further diminishes their chances of success.
Ask yourself this question: Do I want to settle for being average, or do I strive to be a high performer?
This is a fast-paced, practical programme designed to help young people who want to stand out, get selected, and succeed as apprentices.
If you’re serious about your future and don’t want to be “just another applicant”, this programme is for you. If you’re happy doing the bare minimum, that’s okay too — this just isn’t for that.
What you’ll learn:
How it all works
- How apprenticeships really work
- What employers are actually looking for
- How to choose the right training centre and workplace
Real-life skills
